Job Purpose
Work with HOD to lead the development and delivery of impactful, high-quality programmes to positively impact the arts and larger community in Singapore through AHG's Festival making efforts, and to achieve clear strategic objectives and outcomes, in alignment with funding KPIs.
Key Strategies include:
- Strengthening partnership with artists to deepen AHG's impact by working with creative individuals and partners to design and deliver creative partnerships and programmes that connect festivalgoers and participants with meaningful arts experiences.
- Heightening profile of AHG initiatives such as SWF, Writers Fellowship and Golden Point Award as AHG's flagship events, in line with AHG's positioning to support artists throughout their journey.
- Understanding audiences & growing outreach by working with stakeholders to design outreach and educational programmes to foster and engage new audiences at AHG festivals and programmes.
Programming
- To lead SWF team and work with Festival Director to curate and implement year-long SWF literary programmes in line with the programming strategies of AHG to reach out to targeted audiences, culminating at SWF core festival over two/three weeks in November.
- Lead the execution of Golden Point Award and SWF Fellowship, as well as strategic planning of AHG Learn (SIFA & SWF).
- Collaborate with the venue programming team to align overall programming/production and maximise the impact of AHG programmes.
- Developing and conceptualising programmes relevant to festival theme

- Tracking and measuring the impact of the festival and programmes
- To analyse and understand the audiences/participants to refine festival and programmes
Administration, Management and Budget
- To oversee the programming team's capability development and establish a training and development framework.
- To oversee the team on management of all administrative and logistical areas such as budgets and time-lines, agreements, obtaining necessary approvals from internal and external parties, and working closely with various divisions in AHG/vendors on marketing, communications, partnership development, production, technical, event management as well as artist and visitor hospitality, etc., in line with the programme vision and direction SWF as well as to ensure alignment with funding and organizational objectives.
- Support stakeholder management efforts, including liaising with National Arts Council (NAC) literary arts team as commissioner to ensure strategic alignment with national arts strategies and funding frameworks, and SWF Advisory Panel to ensure programming robustness and good governance.
- To carry out and assume any other duties and responsibilities as and when assigned by the Management.
Qualification
Education
- Degree in Arts, Literature or in relevant fields, or equivalent professional qualification
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of management-level experience in literary education, publishing, reading literacy, or related fields, with demonstrated success in developing and delivering programmes.
- A broad professional and literary network, or experience developing such network is essential.
- Possess good knowledge of the local performing arts and/or literary arts scene
