Head of Systematic Trading Desk - Quant Hedge Fund (HK / SG)

About Our Client

We are hiring for a reputable quantitative trading firm operating systematic strategies across global markets. This role leads the live trading desk, with responsibility for execution quality, real-time risk supervision and decisive incident response. You will work closely with quantitative researchers and engineers to keep automated trading safe and reliable. This is a hands-on desk leadership role focused on live trading rather than alpha research or core engine development.

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee live automated equity trading, including strategy performance, positions, execution quality and system health.
• Identify trading or system anomalies and make timely decisions to pause strategies, cancel orders or reduce exposure.
• Investigate execution issues across trading systems, brokers and venues, working with Quant and Tech teams to resolve them.
• Manage intraday trading operations, production changes and incident reviews; drive improvements to desk controls and tools.
• Monitor market conduct and coordinate with brokers, exchanges and internal stakeholders on trading issues.

Work Experience and Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience on a live systematic or electronic equities trading desk at a quant fund, prop firm, market maker or sell-side electronic trading team.
• Proven judgment in managing live trading incidents and taking decisive risk action under pressure.
• Strong understanding of trading systems, order lifecycles, FIX and production change controls.
• Deep knowledge of equity market structure and the ability to identify unusual or potentially disruptive trading activity.
• Hands-on ability to investigate incidents using Linux/UNIX, Python and trading system logs.
