Head of Software Development (Marine and Offshore)

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the software development team in day-to-day operations.
• Participate actively in coding, primarily using PHP and SQL, and assist with debugging, testing, and code reviews.
• Develop and maintain scalable backend systems and databases.
• Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into functional software solutions.
• Ensure that coding standards, best practices, and security guidelines are followed.
• Monitor performance of applications and recommend optimizations or enhancements.
• Support in project planning, task delegation, and timeline management.
• Prepare technical documentation and system specifications as needed.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies relevant to the business.

Requirements:

Technical Skills:

• Strong programming skills in PHP (Laravel or similar frameworks is a plus).
• Solid understanding of SQL and relational database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Experience in API integration and RESTful services.
• Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5 years of experience in software development, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and team collaboration abilities.
