Head of Risk Capital Advisory, Aon Global Risk Consulting, Asia Pacific

Reporting directly to the Head of Risk Consulting for Asia Pacific, as the Head of Risk Capital Advisory, you will lead our strategic risk financing proposition within the Asia Pacific Aon Global Risk Consulting (AGRC) business.

By leveraging Aon's market-leading analytics, you will empower organizations to make better decisions concerning their use of risk capital balancing risk retention structures, alternative risk transfer, and the (re)insurance market to enhance financial resilience.

What the day will look like

  • Own and execute the regional strategy for Risk Capital Advisory, ensuring that Aon's strategic risk financing capabilities are integrated into our largest and most complex client engagements across Asia Pacific.
  • Utilize Aon's proprietary analytics platforms, including Risk Financing Analytics (RFA), to help clients make data-driven decisions on the most efficient use of their capital.
  • Lead the investigation of sophisticated Risk Finance programs, including Captives, structured risk transfer, and parametric solutions.
  • Articulate alternative programs and future risk financing strategies, including roadmaps to execute solutions.
  • Act as the bridge between Risk Capital teams, including brokers, captives, and alternative risk transfer, to ensure a holistic approach to volatility management that improve the efficacy of risk capital strategies.
  • Stay at the forefront of developments in insurance market and emerging risks (e.g., Cyber, Climate, Intellectual Property) to provide proactive, bespoke advice.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Professional Experience: 15+ years of experience in risk management, financial consulting, or alternative risk transfer, with a proven track record in a senior leadership capacity within the Asia Pacific region.
  • Education: Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, or a related field. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CRM) are highly regarded.
  • Strategic Mindset: Deep expertise in Strategic Risk Financing and the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to C-suite stakeholders (CEOs, CFOs, CROs).
  • Analytical Rigor: Strong proficiency in using risk analytics and financial modeling to quantify exposures and validate risk-retention strategies.
  • Solution Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of the global (re)insurance markets, captive management, and structured finance instruments.
  • Influence & Collaboration: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to lead diverse teams and influence outcomes in a highly matrixed global organization.
