Accreditation Management: Ensure all educational activities meet the standards of bodies like the ANCC (American Nurses Credentialing Center) or local health authorities.
Strategic Planning: Align the academy's learning goals with the hospital's long-term clinical needs (e.g., preparing for a new specialized unit).
Preceptor Coordination: Recruit, train, and manage preceptors (experienced nurses who mentor students) to ensure high-quality bedside teaching.
Recruitment & Retention: Act as a key stakeholder in hiring new graduates and developing stay interviews to understand how to improve the learning environment.
Budgeting: Manage the Education Budget, including costs for simulation equipment, external certifications, and tuition reimbursement programs.
Clinical Competency: Audit nursing staff to ensure they are compliant with mandatory certifications (BCLS, ACLS, PALS) and specialized clinical skills.
Policy Development: Update nursing procedures based on the latest evidence-based practice (EBP) and ensure these updates are disseminated through the academy.
Education: Typically requires a Master of Science in Nursing, often with a focus on Nursing Education or Healthcare Administration.

Experience: Usually 10+ years of clinical experience, with at least 5 years in an educator or leadership capacity.
