Head of Network Engineering - Financial Services

A prominent organization in the capital markets and financial infrastructure domain is seeking a seasoned professional to lead its enterprise network function. This company plays a vital role in enabling secure and efficient trading and financial operations, with a strong emphasis on innovation, resilience, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities:

As Head of Network Engineering, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the network infrastructure across data centers, trading platforms, and enterprise systems. You will lead a team of engineers responsible for network reliability, monitoring, and continuous improvement, while ensuring seamless collaboration with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and application teams. This is a management-focused leadership role emphasizing operational excellence, risk mitigation, and service reliability within highly regulated environments.

Requirements:

• At least 10 years of experience in network engineering, design, and architecture, ideally within capital markets or regulated industries.
• Deep expertise in network protocols (BGP, MPLS, SDN), enterprise hardware (Cisco, Arista, Juniper), and network security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs).
• Proven ability to design and architect complex network systems across data centers, cloud, and enterprise environments.
• Experience with automation, scripting, and cloud networking (Python, Ansible, Terraform, AWS, Azure, Kubernetes) is highly desirable.
• Hands-on experience with network monitoring and management tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, and Splunk, with a strong focus on proactive performance monitoring, fault detection, and incident response.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management skills; certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, or CISSP preferred.
