Job Description

About The Role

Lead marketing and communications for CBRE across Singapore and Indonesia, and position the company as the pre-eminent real estate thought leader in both markets. Using earned and owned media, digital and social channels, events and research-led content, you will build share of voice and turn CBRE's market intelligence into commercial advantage.

Armed with strong media relationships, you will identify opportunities to profile subject matter experts and work closely with them to deliver differentiated points of view on the real estate industry. You will lead a team of five to eight marketing and communications professionals, own the country marketing budget, and act as a trusted adviser to country and business line leadership.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role in a matrix environment. You will set strategy and stay close enough to the work to deliver it.

What You'll Do

Strategy and business partnering

‒ Develop and deliver an integrated, ROI-focused marketing and communications strategy across Singapore and Indonesia, covering public relations, digital and social, events, internal communications and brand.

‒ Partner country leadership and business line leaders so that marketing and communications operates as a business enabler rather than a service desk.

‒ Own and manage the country marketing budget, with clear reporting of spend against outcomes.

‒ Set the measurement standard for the function, covering share of voice, campaign performance, event contribution to pipeline and digital engagement, and report against it to leadership each quarter.

‒ Contribute to regional marketing and communications initiatives and project roll-outs across Asia Pacific.

Public relations and media

‒ Act as the key media liaison in Singapore and Indonesia, identifying and pitching stories and securing profiling opportunities for business leaders.

‒ Develop compelling messages, media releases, media responses, byline articles and speeches for senior management.

‒ Build and maintain relationships with tier-one business, property and trade media across both markets.

‒ Manage PR agency partners, including scope, performance, deliverables and budget.

‒ Support regional and global teams on issues and crisis communications, preparing local statements, briefing spokespeople and managing local media response, escalating in line with CBRE protocol.

‒ Maintain spokesperson briefing materials and question-and-answer documents, and arrange media training for senior leaders.

Events and industry engagement

‒ Own the events strategy end to end, from flagship client events and research launches to executive roundtables, industry sponsorships and internal town halls.

‒ Manage event budgets, venue and vendor selection, run of show, speaker preparation and post-event follow-up, with clear measurement of commercial return.

‒ Develop an influencer and industry body engagement strategy, including CBRE's presence and speaking platforms at key industry events in both markets.

Content, research marketing and digital

‒ Work with CBRE Research to turn market intelligence into campaign-ready content and to build launch moments around flagship reports.

‒ Drive lead generation through social and digital channels, working with regional digital teams on campaign build, targeting, marketing technology and reporting.

‒ Act as brand custodian for both markets, maintaining CBRE brand standards across every piece of external and internal output.

‒ Support business development and pursuit teams with marketing collateral and credentials for major client bids.

Internal communications and employer brand

‒ Drive internal communications for employee engagement, change communications and leadership visibility.

‒ Strengthen CBRE's employer brand in partnership with the People team, supporting recruitment and retention priorities.

Team leadership

‒ Lead, coach and develop a team of five to eight professionals across PR, digital, events and internal communications.

‒ Set objectives, manage performance and build capability and succession within the team.

‒ Provide direction and quality control across all local marketing initiatives and campaigns.

What You'll Need

Experience: essential

‒ Degree holder with 12 to 14 years experience in marketing and communications.

‒ Within that, a minimum of three to four years leading public relations and events at a senior level, with direct accountability for media strategy and for flagship event delivery.

‒ Experience gained in a multinational or large listed organisation with multiple stakeholders, matrix reporting and regional or global reporting lines. This is a requirement, not a preference.

‒ Proven record of managing PR and event agencies, including briefing, performance management and budget control.

‒ Demonstrated ownership of a marketing budget, with the ability to report return on that spend.

‒ People leadership experience, having managed a team of five or more.

‒ Established media relationships in Singapore, with proven ability to secure tier-one coverage.

Experience: advantageous

‒ Indonesia market exposure, or a demonstrated track record of building media relationships in a new market.

‒ Real estate, professional services, financial services or agency background.

‒ Experience supporting issues or crisis communications within an established corporate protocol.

‒ Bahasa Indonesia or Mandarin in addition to strong written and spoken English in view of the in-country market communications.

Skills and attributes

‒ Proven expertise in social and digital marketing, including campaign measurement and marketing technology platforms.

‒ Credible with senior stakeholders, and comfortable advising and constructively challenging country and business line leadership.

‒ Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment with competing priorities.

‒ A positive, can-do attitude and readiness to roll up the sleeves and get the job done.

‒ Willingness to travel between Singapore and Indonesia as the role requires.
