Our client is a leading global manufacturing organisation with a strong footprint across Asia Pacific. As part of its continued growth and regional transformation, the company is seeking a Head of Legal, APAC to lead all legal matters across the region and act as a trusted advisor to the APAC leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all legal matters across APAC, covering commercial, regulatory, corporate, compliance, employment, litigation, and risk management issues
- Serve as a strategic business partner to the APAC President and senior leadership team, providing pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice
- Oversee and develop regional legal team members and manage external counsel across multiple jurisdictions
- Drive regional governance, compliance, and ethics programmes in line with global standards and local regulatory requirements
- Support major commercial contracts, supply chain, manufacturing, distribution, and strategic transactions across the region
- Lead legal input on M&A, joint ventures, restructurings, and other strategic initiatives in APAC
- Ensure consistent implementation of global legal policies while adapting to local legal and regulatory nuances
- Act as the key liaison between APAC and global legal leadership, ensuring alignment and transparency
Candidate Profile
- Qualified lawyer with 15+ years of post-qualification experience, ideally with a mix of top-tier law firm and in-house experience
- Proven track record in a global manufacturing, industrial, or highly regulated environment
- Significant experience managing legal matters across multiple APAC jurisdictions
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing regional teams and external stakeholders
- Experience working in a complex, matrixed multinational organisation
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with executive presence
