Job Summary
A fulfilling position as Head of Technology for a reputable organization to drive digital transformation strategies and projects.
Mandatory Skill-set
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer or Software Engineering or Business;
- At least 15 years of experience in innovative or economically driven environment, working on digital technology projects with 10 years in management capacity;
- Strong background in emerging and modern architecture (e.g. microservices / API design, cloud-native development, integration patterns such as REST, messaging, event-driven);
- Exposure to AI/ML or AI-enabled development practices is highly preferred;
- Experience working with enterprise platforms (CRM systems such as Salesforce, Dynamics);
- Knowledge in cyber security - cyber operations, security orchestration, governance and advisory fields;
- Strong technical foundation with previous hands-on experience as a technology architect, able to make strategic decisions grounded in deep architectural understanding;
- Strong appreciation of latest technologies, strategies and innovative approaches to help transform businesses;
- Proven ability to drive team engagements in a tough and time pressed environment;
- Experience in leading and motivating large scale Engineering and Architecture teams;
- Excellent communication skills, emotional intelligence, and ability to influence key decisions, mediate conflicts, and build consensus both internally and externally.
Desired Skill-set
- Experience working in insurance environments with understanding of policy lifecycle, underwriting workflows, claims processing;
- Experience with leading offshore teams is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Responsible to align business initiatives and programmes, identify opportunities to harmonise IT applications;
- Build strategic partnership with senior management to understand their issues and help promote / influence directions;
- Responsible to provide the technological vision and road-maps as well as to develop tactical plans to align with organisation strategies in meeting the future needs;
- Oversees the new technical aspects and technologies development, assess their value add and applicability for the purpose of organisation growth and adoption;
- Work closely with stakeholders and partners to drive change and innovations;
- Involve in continuous improvement, initiate new ideas / concepts by leveraging the latest technologies; driving the efficiency across the whole ecosystem;
- Provide leadership and technical advice to business users, technical members and vendors to adoption of strategic Digital Transformation framework and standards;
- Chair meetings to obtain updates from the various project stakeholders on scope, timeline and budgets;
- Forecast and manage budgets, monitor expenditures/costs/overheads against delivered and realised benefits;
- Overall quality assurance and governance of the integrity of the programme and projects;
- Provide coaching/mentoring to members within each program team to hone their capabilities and retain a motivated and high-performing team;
- Manage overall program risks and associated mitigation plan;
- Provide regular progress report of all programs to senior management.
