Description

Our client is an established global financial institution with a significant international presence and a growing platform in Singapore. As part of the build-out of its Singapore operations, the organisation is recruiting an experienced Head of Finance to lead the local Finance function.

This is a broad leadership mandate combining financial and regulatory reporting, business planning and Finance transformation, and would suit someone comfortable operating hands-on within a global yet agile environment.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Local General Manager and Global Head of Finance, you will lead the Singapore Finance function and oversee financial, regulatory, statutory, tax and Head Office reporting.

You will own the local financial control environment, including monthly close, general ledger, balance sheet substantiation, financial statements and consolidation reporting, while ensuring compliance with MAS regulatory requirements, including MAS 610 and liquidity/LCR reporting.

Beyond core reporting, you will lead budgeting, forecasting and the local business planning process, providing financial analysis and insight to the Executive Committee and supporting strategic and commercial decision-making.

You will serve as a key Finance contact for regulators, auditors and Head Office stakeholders, with responsibility for capital and liquidity monitoring, tax and year-end audit requirements.

As the Singapore platform develops, you will also play an active role in Finance projects, systems implementation, process improvement and change initiatives, establishing scalable processes and controls while supporting the wider build-out of the business.

The role will initially be hands-on, with the opportunity to develop the Finance team as the Singapore business grows.

Qualifications

Degree qualified in Accounting or Finance, you will have substantial Finance experience gained within a banking-licensed financial institution, ideally within a global organisation with regional or Singapore legal-entity responsibilities.

Direct experience with MAS 610 is required, together with exposure to LCR/liquidity regulatory reporting and a strong understanding of Singapore banking regulatory requirements.

You should bring broad Finance experience spanning financial reporting and control, regulatory reporting, budgeting and business planning, rather than a purely BAU reporting background. Experience leading Finance transformation, regulatory change, systems implementation or other significant projects will be highly regarded.

You will be comfortable operating hands-on while engaging senior management, regulators, auditors and global Head Office stakeholders. A recognised accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA or CIMA would be advantageous.

Strong analytical, project management and stakeholder-management capabilities are essential, together with the adaptability to operate effectively within a growing Singapore platform.
