About Libeara
Libeara is rebuilding capital markets on-chain through its compliance-first approach to tokenising real-world assets. The company is backed by SC Ventures, the innovation arm of Standard Chartered, whose mission is to rewire the DNA of banking.
To date, Libeara's infrastructure has supported the tokenisation of more than US$1 billion in regulated assets, including the world's highest-rated tokenised US Treasury fund and Asia's first tokenised retail money market fund. With multi-chain interoperability and institutional-grade security and governance, Libeara is scaling access to real-world assets the right way: transparent, regulated, and on-chain.

Role
We are seeking an experienced Head of Engineering owns the end-to-end technology vision, platform architecture, and engineering execution for our compliance-first, on-chain tokenisationinfrastructure, while leading and mentoring a team of Software Engineers/Technical Leads, and Product Associate/Product Leads. You will build a culture of engineering excellence, ownership, and thoughtful experimentation within clearly defined risk boundaries.
Our work sits at the intersection of Web3 infrastructure and regulated capital markets. We build regulated, production-grade infrastructure for tokenised real-world assets (RWA), working closely with institutional partners and regulators, where reliability, security, and compliance matter as much as technical elegance.
Reporting to the CEO and working in coordination with SC Ventures stakeholders, this role is accountable for building and scaling Libeara's core platform that spans custody, tokenisation, KYC integrations, and institutional-grade controls, while shaping how regulated, on-chain financial infrastructure is built in practice.
You will lead a small, senior engineering team and external vendors, remain hands-on with architecture and critical technical decisions, and ensure that everything we ship can withstand scrutiny from regulators, auditors, and enterprise partners.
Responsibilities
Technology Strategy and Architecture
Own Libeara's overall technology strategy, architecture, and engineering standards across the full solution stack
Design and evolve a secure, scalable on-chain platform for tokenised real-world assets (RWA), including custody, issuance, lifecycle management, settlement workflows, and smart-contract-enabled systems
Architect systems that combine blockchain-native design with institutional expectations around auditability, security, and operational resilience
Make and review critical architectural decisions, staying hands-on with system design, protocol choices, and integration patterns
Define and maintain the technology blueprint as the platform expands across chains, environments, and regulated partners
Embed quality assurance, application security, data protection, and cryptographic key management into the platform by default
Engineering Delivery and Execution
Lead engineering delivery across backend, blockchain, platform, and front-end development
Actively participate in sprint planning, prioritisation, delivery, and release management
Translate regulated capital-markets workflows into scalable, on-chain systems
Manage and coordinate external engineering vendors (currently Vietnam-based), ensuring quality, accountability, and alignment with Libeara's standards
Risk, Governance and Regulatory Readiness
Embed a high-risk and control mindset into engineering practices without sacrificing clarity or delivery discipline
Identify, assess, and mitigate technology, security, smart contract, vendor, and delivery risks across in-flight and planned initiatives
Partner closely with Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure audit-readiness and regulatory alignment for on-chain systems
Support disaster recovery, business continuity planning, and incident response across both cloud and blockchain components
Stakeholder and Ecosystem Management
Work closely with the CEO, leadership team, and SC Ventures stakeholders to align on technology direction and execution
Collaborate with banks, custodians, KYC providers, blockchain infrastructure partners, and other ecosystem participants
Influence decision-making through clarity, trust, and strong technical judgment

15+ years of experience building and scaling complex digital platforms in fast-moving environments
5+ years leading Engineering teams and owning solution architecture for mission-critical systems
Deep experience with blockchain infrastructure, smart-contract-enabled systems, or distributed ledgers, including layer-1 / layer-2 platforms, node infrastructure, or protocol integrations, ideally in regulated or institutional contexts
Hands-on experience with custody platforms, tokenisation workflows, and KYC/AML integrations
Strong background in service-based and microservices architectures, with exposure to event-driven or distributed systems
Solid understanding of application security, cryptographic key management, data protection, and regulatory expectations
Experience with DevOps practices, cloud infrastructure, and modern deployment pipelines
Startup or scale-up experience required, with comfort operating in regulated, scaling environments exposure to Web3 is mandatory
