What You'll Responsible For:

  • Portfolio Strategy & Business Ownership
  • Define and own the Crew Auxiliary Services strategy, roadmap, and value proposition aligned with WSM's overall services and growth strategy.
  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize new service opportunities across the crew lifecycle (e.g. recruitment, training, welfare, travel, digital services, compliance, wellbeing, logistics, etc.).
  • Decide build / partner / buy approaches for new services and capabilities.
  • Ensure services are designed as repeatable, scalable products, not bespoke one-offs.
  • P&L & Commercial Performance
  • Full P&L responsibility, including revenue growth, cost management, margin improvement, and investment prioritization.
  • Develop and own pricing models, commercial terms, and profitability targets by service line.
  • Build robust business cases for new services and scaling initiatives, including ROI and risk assessments.
  • Track and report performance using clear financial and operational KPIs
  • Product Development & Standardisation
  • Translate customer and internal needs into clear service definitions, scope, SLAs, and delivery models.
  • Drive standardization across fleets and regions while allowing controlled local flexibility.
  • Work closely with Digital / IT to enable system-supported, data-driven service delivery where relevant.
  • Ensure services meet regulatory, contractual, and compliance requirements across jurisdictions.
  • Commercialisation & Market Growth
  • Lead commercialization and rollout of crew auxiliary services across WSM-managed fleets.
  • Partner with commercial, crewing teams to embed services into core WSM offerings.
  • Support broader business development efforts, including value propositions for new customers and tenders.
  • Identify opportunities to offer services to external customers where strategically aligned
  • Partnerships, M&A & Ecosystem Development
  • Identify, negotiate, and manage strategic partners, vendors, and service providers.
  • Lead strategic partnerships, alliances, and potential acquisitions to accelerate growth.
  • Negotiate and approve major commercial and partnership agreements.
  • Build a robust ecosystem of service providers and technology partners.
  • Ensure risk, compliance, and performance governance across the ecosystem.
  • Leadership, Talent & Culture
  • Act as the single point of accountability for Crew Auxiliary Services across WSM.
  • Influence and align internal stakeholders across crewing, operations, finance, legal, IT, and regional hubs.
  • Drive change from ad-hoc services to portfolio thinking and commercial discipline.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team as the portfolio scales.

What Experience and Skills Required:


Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Maritime, or related discipline; MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • 5+ years of senior leadership experience in maritime, shipping or offshore businesses.
  • Proven track record as a business head or General Manager with P&L accountability.
  • Demonstrated success in building and scaling global service businesses.
  • Strong experience operating in matrixed, international organisations.

Preferred


  • Background in crew management, crewing services, maritime HR, or crew-related service ecosystems
  • Experience with platform, digital, or ecosystem-based business models.
  • Exposure to partnerships, joint ventures, or M&A.
  • Experience presenting business cases and performance to senior leadership or boards.
