Our client is seeking a dynamic leader to spearhead their AI team in Singapore and guide them through the next stage of their data-driven transformation. Reporting directly to the Chief AI Officer for Asia and the Chief Marketing Officer in Singapore, you will collaborate with both local and regional stakeholders to define and advance their AI initiatives within the Singapore business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and execute the AI strategy for Singapore, focusing on identifying and prioritizing use cases, data collection, data enhancement, and data cleansing, while working closely with local and regional data offices.
- Partner with the Singapore Executive team and internal collaborators to provide leadership on utilizing AI and data to enhance business objectives and value metrics.
- Lead a team comprising Senior Data Scientists, Data Scientists, and ML Engineers to develop and support AI services across various functional areas within the Singapore operation.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers and IT Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to deeply understand source data and leverage large datasets to prepare and optimize data for priority applications.
- Work closely with key business partners to unlock additional value through AI deployment.
- Design and implement innovative machine learning models to address complex business challenges, employing a wide array of algorithms and techniques.
- Engage with partners to gather requirements, design data models, and deploy tailored solutions.
- Oversee talent management, coaching, and team development.
- Standardize processes, methodologies, and tools as best practices for data scientists within the team and share globally.
- Promote the adoption of use cases to maximize business value realization.
- Ensure alignment with regional and global modeling standards and governance to maintain appropriate use and performance of solutions.
- Innovate and investigate creative ways to utilize both structured and unstructured data.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in AI/ML.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, mathematics, economics, or business (a master's degree is a plus).
- At least 12 years of progressively responsible experience in data science and advanced analytics relevant to this role.
- In-depth knowledge of machine learning, data visualization, and data analytics, along with some experience in AI, particularly in Gen AI development.
- Practical experience in developing advanced analytical solutions using tools such as Python, SQL, and SAS, as well as familiarity with BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, and Qlik.
- Understanding of cloud service providers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, along with data platforms like Databricks or Snowflake.
- A proven history of implementing data science solutions within a large organization, effectively collaborating in a matrix environment to gain support.
- Consistently meets or exceeds performance expectations.
- Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, and analytical capabilities.
- Highly collaborative approach, capable of building strong relationships and influencing stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
