Overview
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef / Executive Chef to lead kitchen operations and ensure the delivery of high-quality culinary experiences. The ideal candidate will oversee menu planning, food preparation, cost control, and kitchen management while maintaining food safety and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and oversee all food preparation and culinary activities in the kitchen.
- Develop and modify menus that meet quality and presentation standards.
- Estimate food and labour requirements, ensuring adherence to budgetary guidelines.
- Recruit, train, and supervise kitchen staff, and manage staff scheduling based on operational needs.
- Ensure kitchen staff comply with recipes, portion control, and presentation standards.
- Lead, motivate, and coach team members to achieve performance and quality objectives.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance, purchases, and repairs to ensure smooth operations.
- Perform administrative duties such as inventory management, cost tracking, and reporting.
- Support other operational and business-related tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Diploma or equivalent qualification in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in a full-scale kitchen or food service environment.
- Valid Food Hygiene and Safety Certification.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across teams.
- Willingness to work on rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays as required by operations.
