Job Overview

We are looking for a Halal Compliance Officer (HAO) to oversee and maintain Halal compliance for our western food stall, while also assisting with cashier duties during operations.

This role is suitable for candidates who are hands-on, comfortable working in a small F&B setup, and able to balance Halal documentation, on-site checks, and basic front-of-house support.

Key Responsibilities

Halal Compliance & Documentation

• Maintain and update Halal Assurance System (HAS / HalMQ) records

• Ensure all ingredients, suppliers, and processes remain Halal-compliant

• Verify supplier Halal certificates and supporting documents

• Prepare and manage documents for MUIS Halal certification, renewal, and audits

• Liaise with suppliers, certifying bodies, and MUIS when required

On-Site Halal Duties

• Conduct routine Halal checks on ingredients, storage, handling, and preparation

• Ensure daily operations comply with MUIS Halal Certification Conditions

• Support MUIS audits, inspections, and corrective actions

• Train and guide stall staff on Halal procedures and awareness

Cashier & Operations Support

• Assist with cashier duties during operating hours

• Support basic front-of-house operations when needed

• Work closely with stall operators to ensure smooth daily operations

Requirements

• Familiar with Halal Assurance System (HAS / HalMQ)

• Experience handling Halal certification, renewal, and audit processes

• Background in F&B / food retail / hawker / central kitchen / catering

• Comfortable working in a small team and hands-on environment

Preferred / Bonus Experience

• Experience supporting small or medium F&B businesses

• Able to manage Halal documentation independently

• Experience conducting internal Halal checks and staff training

• Flexible and adaptable to operational needs
