A globally business with complex operations across multiple jurisdictions is seeking a Group Tax Manager to oversee its global tax function. This role offers a rare opportunity to build and enhance a world-class tax framework while working cross-functionally with global stakeholders in finance, legal, operations, and technology.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Global Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Lead and coordinate corporate income tax, indirect tax, and withholding tax compliance across all jurisdictions.
- Oversee the preparation, review, and filing of statutory tax returns in collaboration with local finance teams and external tax advisors.
- Manage tax audits and investigations, ensuring accurate, timely, and well-supported responses.
- Maintain and update Transfer Pricing documentation
- Lead annual Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR) and monitor developments like OECD BEPS and Pillar Two for impact assessment.
2. Tax Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Own tax accounting processes across the group:
- Current and deferred tax calculations
- Tax provisions and disclosures for statutory and internal reporting
- Support quarterly and annual financial closes with standardised tax reporting packs.
- Ensure alignment between tax filings, provisions, and financial statements.
3. Process Improvement, Systems & Controls
- Champion process automation and digitisation of tax workflows; collaborate with Finance and IT on system alignment.
- Enhance internal controls and audit readiness; develop clear procedures and documentation.
- Drive tax risk mitigation, compliance consistency, and data quality improvement.
4. Stakeholder Engagement & Governance
- Partner with global Finance, Legal, Operations, and external advisors to ensure compliance and tax efficiency.
- Maintain alignment with internal governance standards and external regulatory expectations.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Qualified tax professional (ACA, CPA or equivalent); Big 4 or similar background preferred.
- 7+ years post-qualification experience, with strong exposure to international tax compliance, reporting, and audit.
- Deep knowledge of direct and indirect tax, transfer pricing, and tax accounting (current & deferred).
- Experience working across multinational groups; exposure to trading or asset-heavy industries is a bonus.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP systems.
- Strong sense of ownership, analytical acumen, and compliance-first mindset.
- Structured and detail-oriented, able to manage multi-country tax deadlines efficiently.
- Collaborative and pragmatic, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
