A leading digital asset exchange is establishing its global risk function as part of a significant regional expansion. This is a rare opportunity to architect and lead the enterprise risk framework from the ground up, working directly with executive leadership and building a world-class risk team in one of the fastest-growing sectors in finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement enterprise-wide risk framework covering market, credit, liquidity, and operational risk across all entities and regions
- Oversee crypto trading risk (spot, derivatives, structured products) ensuring alignment with limits and regulatory mandates
- Monitor exchange and counterparty risk across CEX/DEX venues; establish collateral, margin, and settlement protocols
- Conduct stress testing, VaR analysis, and scenario simulations to assess portfolio vulnerabilities
- Partner with trading, product, treasury, and operations to embed risk principles into strategic initiatives
- Build risk systems and monitoring infrastructure for real-time anomaly detection
- Establish governance frameworks and board-level reporting on risk trends and exposures
- Recruit and lead a global risk team across multiple time zones
Key Requirements
- 10+ years risk management experience in global markets/trading; minimum 2 years in crypto
- Prior crypto exchange experience mandatory must understand market microstructure, exchange mechanics, derivatives, liquidity management
- Hands-on track record designing global risk frameworks across multiple jurisdictions
- Deep knowledge of blockchain settlement risks, custody structures, counterparty frameworks
- Strong quantitative skills: stress testing, VaR modeling, scenario analysis
- Fluency in Mandarin and English required
- Bachelor's in Finance/Economics/Mathematics; FRM/CFA preferred
- Based in Hong Kong or Singapore (remote considered for exceptional candidates)
