The Company
A Singapore-headquartered manufacturer that provides vertically integrated precision plastic and metal components and related engineering services, with operations across Singapore, Malaysia, and China.
It manufactures and sub-assembles precision plastic parts and components and also fabricates precision moulds and dies. Its services span product development, tooling design and fabrication, plastics injection moulding, metal injection moulding, and integrated product assembly, including secondary processes such as printing, welding, and surface finishing.
The Position
The Group General Manager is responsible for the overall operational performance of the subsidiaries across Singapore, Malaysia and China. The position ensures that all plants operate safely, efficiently and profitably while meeting the Group's quality, delivery and cost objectives, and supporting its growth strategy in the targeted market segments.
Key Responsibilities
. Lead and manage all manufacturing operations, including plastics injection moulding, metal injection moulding, tooling, sub-assembly and secondary processes.
. Drive and implement the Group's operational strategy, translating corporate objectives into plant-level plans, KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, yield, on-time delivery and cost competitiveness.
. Oversee end-to-end operational performance, including capacity planning, production scheduling, maintenance, supply continuity and utilization of manufacturing floor space.
. Ensure robust quality management systems and compliance with relevant standards and customer requirements, supporting the Group's positioning as a high-precision plastics and moulds manufacturer to blue-chip customers.
. Support Managing Director and other key management team on long-term operations roadmap including plant upgrades, technology adoption, automation initiatives.
. Lead and develop plant and operations leadership teams setting performance expectations, and fostering a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement and cross-site collaboration.
. Work closely with business development, tooling, engineering, supply chain, finance and sales teams to support new program launches, tooling transfers, cost optimization and margin improvement.
. Oversee budgeting and cost management for manufacturing operations, including labour, materials, overheads and capital expenditure, ensuring that operational performance supports Group financial targets.
. Support key customer relationships from an operations standpoint, including operational reviews, audits and resolution of delivery, quality and technical issues.
. Ensure strong governance, internal controls and operational risk management across all plants, including compliance with workplace safety and health, environmental and regulatory requirements in the jurisdictions where the Group operates.
Qualifications and Experience
. Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce and cross-functional teams across different countries and cultures.
Reporting Line and Location
. Reports to: Managing Director
. Location: Singapore-based, with frequent travel to the Group's manufacturing facilities in Malaysia and China.
