Group Accounting Specialist (12-Month Contract)

A leading global consumer goods organisation has engaged us to provide an experienced Group Accounting Specialist on a 12-month contract. This is a high-impact role within the Group Finance function, supporting audit and reporting activities across multiple international markets. It is ideally suited to a finance professional with strong technical accounting expertise, audit experience, and controllership skills.
Key Responsibilities
Audit & Controls
- Support and coordinate audit-related activities across 15+ countries, ensuring timely delivery of documentation and alignment with group requirements.
- Prepare audit schedules, address audit queries, and drive resolution of outstanding issues.
- Enhance internal controls and ensure compliance with Group financial policies, IFRS standards, and operational procedures.
- Liaise closely with both internal and external auditors to manage a smooth and efficient audit cycle across the region.
Group Accounting & Consolidation
- Consolidate and review month-end close submissions prepared by the Shared Services Centre (SSC) Finance team.
- Validate SSC reporting for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to group accounting standards.
- Support preparation of group-level financial statements, variance analysis, and management reporting.
Operational Finance & Controllership
- Provide technical accounting guidance to finance teams across various markets.
- Support initiatives to strengthen financial processes, reporting consistency, and control frameworks.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects, financial analysis, and improvement initiatives across Group Finance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Big 4 audit background strongly preferred (external audit or advisory).
- 510+ years experience in audit, group reporting, financial accounting, or controllership.
- Proven experience working with multi-country or regional finance environments is an advantage.
- Proficiency with SAP and strong understanding of end-to-end month-end close processes.
- Solid grounding in IFRS and technical accounting.
- Strong analytical mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and ability to work within tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly in a global or matrix environment.
