Role Overview

As Group Chief Technology Officer, you will be a core member of the executive leadership team, responsible for defining and driving OSW's global technology strategy, architecture, and product innovation. You will shape how distributed energy technologies, digital platforms, data systems, and AIdriven solutions underpin OSW's ecosystem model across markets. This is a highimpact role for a visionary technologist who can balance deep technical rigor with commercial insight and people leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Vision

  • Define OSW's longterm technology roadmap aligned with our mission to scale clean, distributed energy.
  • Own the endtoend technology architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security across software, hardware, and data platforms.

Product & Platform Leadership

  • Lead the design, delivery, and evolution of OSW's core platforms (energy management systems, marketplace or trading platforms, IoT, analytics dashboards, etc.).
  • Work closely with Product and business leaders to translate customer and regulatory needs into technical requirements and timebound roadmaps.

Innovation & R&D

  • Oversee R&D initiatives exploring advanced topics such as AI/ML for grid optimization, distributed storage management, smartmetering ecosystems, and digitaltwin solutions for energy assets.
  • Partner with universities, startups, and industry consortia to bring external innovation into OSW's stack.

Engineering & Data Leadership

  • Build, grow, and lead a highperforming global technology organization spanning software engineering, data science, infrastructure, and product engineering.
  • Establish strong engineering practices (design systems, CI/CD, SRE, observability, and DevOps) that support rapid but safe iteration.

Digital Ecosystem & Partnerships

  • Define OSW's external technology interfaces, APIs, and ecosystem models to integrate thirdparty platforms, devices, and marketplaces.
  • Assess and approve critical technology partnerships, vendors, and opensource components that support OSW's strategic direction.

Risk, Security & Compliance

  • Drive cybersecurity, dataprivacy, and operational resilience standards across OSW's digital stack and connected energy assets.
  • Ensure compliance with energysector regulations, datasovereignty requirements, and digitalplatform standards across jurisdictions.

Commercial & Financial Ownership

  • Own the technology operating and capital budgets, balancing investment in innovation, infrastructure, and talent.
  • Support fundraising, due diligence, and boardlevel discussions by articulating technical risks, opportunities, and gotomarket implications.

Role Requirements:

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field; advanced degree (e.g., MSc/MBA/PhD) preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive technology leadership, including at least 810 years in senior executive or nearexecutive roles.
  • Demonstrated experience scaling technology teams and complex product platforms in a highgrowth environment (startup, scaleup, or fastmoving enterprise).
  • Strong track record in energy, cleantech, industrial IoT, smartgrid, or similarly data and hardwareintensive sectors highly preferred.
  • Languages: Fluent Chinese + English to manage the teams in various locations

Technical & Strategic Competencies:

Global Software Architecture & Compliance (Must-have)

  • Proven experience designing and owning global software architectures across multiple countries or regions.
  • Strong hands-on understanding of data compliance and privacy regulation in different jurisdictions.
  • Able to confidently respond to deep technical architecture and compliance questions from senior management, boards, or regulators.

AI Capabilities for Engineering Efficiency (Must-have)

  • Strong, practical understand of AI applications in software development.
  • Experience or clear capabilities in using AI for:
  • Vibe coding
  • Development automation
  • Engineering productivity improvement
  • A clear goal of reducing dependency on large engineering headcount while maintaining or increasing delivery efficiency and lowering long-term costs.

Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Exceptional leadership and teambuilding skills; experience mentoring diverse, crossregional engineering and product teams.
  • Strong communication skills to translate complex technical tradeoffs for the board, investors, and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Agile, adaptable mindset suited to a fastpaced, missiondriven environment with evolving product and regulatory requirements.

Nice-to-have:

  • Background in B2B SaaS products is highly preferred.
  • Experience with:
  • Enterprise users
  • Complex product requirements
  • Continuous iteration and delivery cycles
  • Experience in blockchain, digital currency, or Web3 technology is a strong plus
  • If not experienced:
  • Must demonstrate strong learning capability
  • Willingness to build competency as the business evolves.
  • Managed one R&D team for multiple Business Units.
