Job Description

Brief Summary

Join a dynamic finance team as a Group Accountant, focusing on group consolidations and financial reporting. This role offers significant exposure to regional stakeholder management and operational transformation within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual group consolidations. Review and analyze subsidiary management accounts, delivering consolidated monthly management reports with detailed variance analysis. Support budgeting and forecasting processes at the group level. Manage audit deliverables across entities, ensuring timely resolution of audit queries. Prepare draft group financial statements and collaborate with external auditors to meet reporting deadlines. Implement new or revised accounting standards across the group. Drive automation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reporting efficiency and internal controls. Work with regional finance teams to ensure timely, accurate, consistent reporting, providing technical accounting guidance and group reporting support. Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close for a local trading entity, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Participate in ad hoc projects and cross-functional initiatives as needed.

Requirements

  • Degree or professional qualification in Accountancy. Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, ideally including 3 years in audit and 2 years in a commercial finance role focused on group consolidation and financial reporting. Prior audit experience required experience with a Big 4 accounting firm is a strong advantage. Strong analytical and reconciliation skills with attention to detail. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines. Strong working knowledge of IFRS and related financial reporting standards. Self-motivated and ownership-driven individual striving for excellence. Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills. High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentations. Experience with IBM Cognos Controller and/or Syteline is an advantage. Exposure to system implementations or reporting automation projects.
