Job Opportunity: Student Designer for Academic Writing/Teaching Brand

The Academic Practice is a new initiative dedicated to teaching and coaching academic writing for early-career faculty and universities. We are looking for a creative and reliable student designer to help us build our visual identity and design key communication materials.

What Youll Work On

Logo design (primary logo, simplified versions, favicon, black and white, transparent background)

Visual identity system (colour palette, typography, style guide in tandem with Squarespaces templates)

Website design (Homepage, About, Services, Blog/Resources, Contact, Your Journey section)

Social media templates (LinkedIn, Instagram)

Google Slides template (for workshops, lectures, and presentations)

Workbook / handout templates (for exercises, reflection sheets, guides in Canva)

Email newsletter template (header, footer, formatting in tandem with Squarespaces templates)

Zoom/virtual teaching backgrounds (branded virtual backdrops)

Extras: business cards, docx template for letterhead, certificate of completion template, pdf brochures/one-pagers for universities

What Were Looking For

A student (design, visual communication, media, or related field) with strong creative skills

Familiarity with branding, digital design, and templates for online use

Ability to create designs that are clean, modern, professional, and approachable

Experience with design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or Canva

Bonus if you have experience in website design (Squarespace)
