Global Supply Chain New College Graduate

Key Responsibilities

• Engages new supplier introduction and/or disengagement requirements to/from the Applied Materials supply base.

• Supports the maintenance of agreements with suppliers that provide the structure for all business relationships between Applied Materials and the supply base.

• Develops strategies to procure components at the lowest cost consistent with consideration of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need.

• Assists in creation of commodity road maps and implements commodity strategies.

• Supports new product development program and PLC process to ensure alignment with Applied's commodity strategies.

• Drives material cost reduction projects. Activities include but not limited to supplier negotiations, collaboration with engineering on design optimization and should costing.

• Assists in supplier price and delivery negotiations under direct supervision may negotiate contracts as necessary.

• Utilizes the preferred supplier selection and assessment process when selecting suppliers Completes supplier risk assessment on critical and unique parts Monitors supplier performance (delivery, quality, cost).

• Drives resolution to systematic supply chain issues affecting quality, cost, delivery or lead-time.

• Drives initiatives on process improvement, optimization and digitalization of work processes within GSC community.

• Under direct supervision, forecasts and communicates engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers. Coordinates demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure.

• Review and resolve material shortages to ensure continuity of production activities.

• Provides input to outsourcing decisions by performing make versus buy analysis.
