Job Description

As the Senior Manager of Global Media Relations, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Schneider Electric's reputation and driving impactful media coverage. Based in one of Asia's leading media markets, you will join a tight-knit and highly collaborative team of media relations experts positioned in key media markets around the globe.

You will collaborate closely with Schneider Electric's executive team, as well as leaders in its business units and regional operations teams, to identify compelling stories and translate complex technical information into global tier-one media coverage.

This role is designed for an experienced professional who brings a strong network of journalists and editors in global tier-one publications and who enjoys leading with influence in complex environments.

What will you do:

Media relationship management

  • Execute a comprehensive global media relations strategy aligned with Schneider Electric's corporate objectives
  • Build and nurture relationships with journalists, editors, and producers at influential global media outlets
  • Proactively pitch compelling stories that showcase Schneider Electric's energy technology innovations, partnerships, and sustainability initiatives
  • Coach and prepare executives for effective media interviews
  • Respond to media inquiries promptly and effectively, providing accurate and timely information

Cross-functional coordination

  • Manage a community of key stakeholders, including country-level PR leads across the APAC region, as well as global business units and functional teams, acting as a key PR advisor and ensuring effective coordination on media outreach
  • Collaborate with other transversal communications teams, including Executive Influence & Positioning, IR, Events, Paid Media and others to build and oversee PR campaigns around key media moments
  • Develop and oversee media relations-focused policies

Storytelling

  • Develop compelling narratives that highlight Schneider Electric's value proposition and differentiate the company from competitors in the media
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to create engaging media materials, including press releases, byline articles, talking points, and pitches
  • Maintain the pipeline of content for Schneider Electric's newsrooms to ensure quality and consistency of materials while building alignment with key stakeholders

Measurement and reporting

  • Track and analyze media coverage to measure the impact of media relations efforts
  • Utilize media monitoring tools to identify opportunities and measure key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Report media results and data-driven insights to company leadership

What will make you successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in media relations, preferably within a global corporate or agency setting
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with Tier 1 media outlets
  • Experience in the energy or technology sectors preferred
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent relationship management skills and a proven ability to manage transversal initiatives without a direct line of authority
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
  • Experience working with senior executives and managing complex communication challenges
