Global Head of Sustainability, Life Sciences and Chemicals Multinational ( SINGAPORE )

Overview: A leading multinational firm in the life sciences and chemicals sector, committed to innovation and sustainability. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head of Sustainability to lead our sustainability initiatives and integrate sustainable practices across our operations globally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:Develop and implement a comprehensive sustainability strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of operations, products, and supply chains.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability into business processes and decision-making.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Reporting:Ensure compliance with local, national, and international environmental regulations and standards.Prepare sustainability reports and communicate progress to stakeholders, including investors, customers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor and analyze sustainability trends, policies, and best practices within the industry.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:Foster relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and industry groups, to promote sustainability initiatives.
  • Engage and educate employees on sustainability practices and encourage participation in sustainability programs.Performance Measurement:Establish metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives and report on progress.
  • Conduct sustainability assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement and innovation.
  • Innovation and Development:Drive research and development of sustainable products and processes within the life sciences and chemicals sectors.Identify opportunities for circular economy practices and waste reduction initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Chemistry, or a related field; Master's degree or relevant certifications.
  • At least 12-15+ years of experience in sustainability, environmental management, or corporate social responsibility, preferably in the life sciences or chemicals industry.
  • Strong understanding of sustainability frameworks, regulations, and reporting standards (e.g., GRI, CDP).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven track record of managing sustainability initiatives and driving organisational change.
