Job Description

Role Purpose

Lead and transform Apical's global end-to-end supply chain organisation across sourcing logistics, planning, logistics, warehousing, shipping, customer service and supply chain excellence. The role is accountable for delivering superior customer service, cost competitiveness, working capital efficiency, operational resilience and supply chain capability while establishing SCM as a strategic competitive advantage for the Group.

The scope covers all major business segments including Bulk, Oleochemicals, Functional Fats and Green Energy across multiple geographies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Supply Chain Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute the Group's global supply chain strategy aligned to business growth objectives.
  • Establish a unified supply chain operating model, governance framework and performance management structure.
  • Drive supply chain transformation, digitalisation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as the principal advisor to senior management on supply chain strategy, risks and opportunities.

2. End-to-End Supply Chain Management

Lead and optimise the end-to-end supply chain across:

  • Sourcing and upstream logistics
  • Planning and S&OP
  • Warehousing and inventory management
  • Tank farm and storage operations
  • Shipping, freight and transportation
  • Customer service and order fulfilment

Ensure reliable supply, optimum inventory levels, efficient asset utilisation and superior customer service across the global network.

3. Operational Excellence & Transformation

  • Build supply chain excellence capabilities across the Group.
  • Standardise processes, policies, systems and governance.
  • Drive network optimisation and operational efficiency.
  • Champion the adoption of digital technologies, automation, analytics and performance management tools.

4. Cost & Working Capital Management

  • Optimise logistics, freight, warehousing and inventory costs.
  • Improve working capital through inventory optimisation.
  • Enhance productivity across the supply chain organisation.
  • Deliver measurable cost savings and efficiency improvements.

5. Stakeholder & Partner Management

  • Partner closely with Commercial, Operations, Manufacturing, Procurement and Finance leadership teams.
  • Align supply chain priorities with business and customer requirements.
  • Manage strategic relationships with logistics providers, shipping partners and key external stakeholders.

6. Organisation & Talent Development

  • Build a high-performing global SCM organisation.
  • Develop leadership succession pipelines and functional capabilities.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement and innovation.

7. Risk, Governance & Sustainability

  • Strengthen supply chain governance and controls.
  • Ensure business continuity and supply chain resilience.
  • Manage operational and logistics risks.
  • Promote sustainable and responsible supply chain practices.

Experience & Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Operations, Business or related discipline. MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification preferred.

Experience

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in supply chain, logistics, operations or manufacturing environments.
  • Proven track record leading large-scale, complex and geographically dispersed supply chain organisations.
  • Strong experience across planning, logistics, warehousing, shipping, inventory management and customer service.
  • Demonstrated success in driving large-scale transformation, operational improvement and organisation development.
  • Experience within agribusiness, commodities, FMCG, manufacturing, chemicals or related industries is advantageous.
