Global Gas Market Analyst ( Contract / Secondment )

The Global Gas Market Analysts are part of the Cross Commodities Trading Team, delivering advanced

analytics for the European Gas and LNG trading desks within the group, based in London. They are

responsible for providing high quality insights in the products markets across the natural gas

spectrum.

Main Responsibilities:

. Provide frontline support for the Singapore traders with market analysis / insights

. Build and maintain tools/dashboards to assist the traders in their decisions making (Stack Models,

Python based forecasts, etc)

. Continue to develop supply and demand models and analyse these balances per country/region in the Asia-Pacific region by selecting the most relevant data sources

. Generation of trade ideas Develop systematic trading strategies for the Natural Gas Market in general

. Support Origination activity and investment decisions

. Identify the right set of models and develops the right code / package to execute them

. Evaluate the validity of the model (both scientifically as well as from a business perspective)

. Actively contribute to the team wide fundamental analytics

. Articulate insights and recommendations (based on model output) to respective key stakeholders

. Communicating technical jargon in plain English to colleagues within the team

. Prepare various reports and analysis for publishing internally

. Maintain and improve teams IT capabilities and contribute to the successful implementation of AMP vNext.

Profile / Key Skills:

Candidate must have a strong background in quantitative skills (like statistics, mathematics,

advanced computing, machine learning).

The required expertise includes (but is not limited to):

. Fundamental Knowledge: Strong fundamental knowledge of the European natural gas and Global LNG markets.

. Natural Gas Modelling: Advanced experience with different forms of natural gas modelling:

Stack, Bid Offer, Interconnector

. Statistics / Mathematics: Data Quality Analysis, Data identification, Hypothesis testing,

distribution / probability theory

. Data Science: Time series analysis, Object Oriented Programming, Business intelligence,

Embedded systems (Linux), Databases, Python programming
