Job Summary
Join our customer's team as a German Audio Generalist Evaluator Expert and contribute to a high-impact audio AI research initiative in collaboration with a leading research lab. In this structured, short-term engagement, you will support transcription, annotation, and evaluation workflows that help train and benchmark advanced language models.
This opportunity is ideal for professionals with strong analytical or academic backgrounds who are fluent in German and English and enjoy transforming complex audio and visual content into precise, well-structured written outputs.
Key Responsibilities
Transcribe and Optimize Audio & Video
- Listen to, analyze, and accurately transcribe German audio and video content according to detailed constraints and guidelines
- Produce high-quality written outputs in German, with supporting English documentation when required
- Ensure strict adherence to formatting, stylistic, and structural standards
- Capture tone, intent, and regional variations (e.g., High German and dialectal influences) where relevant
Define and Document Evaluation Standards
- Establish clear quality expectations for responses in general consumer audio contexts
- Develop detailed rubrics and grading criteria in both German and English
- Document standards to ensure cross-reviewer consistency and reliable benchmarking
- Identify linguistic nuances, register distinctions (formal vs. informal), and language-specific edge cases
Conduct Model Testing and Grading
- Run structured prompts through language models and assess outputs
- Evaluate responses for accuracy, completeness, fluency, and clarity
- Provide structured, actionable feedback to improve German-language audio task performance
Support Benchmarking and Quality Assurance
- Participate in QA and review cycles to maintain high-quality standards
- Ensure reliability and consistency before datasets are integrated into benchmarks
- Collaborate with project leads to refine task design and resolve ambiguities
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Native or near-native fluency in German (spoken and written)
- Professional fluency in English
- Strong writing, editing, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to accurately transcribe and analyze German audio content across general consumer contexts
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time independently
- Availability to commit 1020 hours per week
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in linguistics, humanities, journalism, social sciences, or technical disciplines
- Experience with transcription, annotation, localization, or evaluation workflows
- Familiarity with regional variations such as Austrian German or Swiss German
- Interest in AI systems, language model evaluation, or applied research
- Academic or research experience involving structured analysis
