Tigris is a Singapore-based company focused on building and operating sustainable infrastructure and resource-efficient business systems across Southeast Asia. As part of its expanding operations, the company owns and manages Jaan, a fast-growing water bottling and distribution business located in Bali. This role is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end operations of Jaan. The General Manager will work closely with the Founder & Managing Director to ensure effective execution across manufacturing, logistics, customer service, and commercial support functions.

The successful candidate will act as the Founder & Managing Director's on-the-ground operational representative in Bali, serving as the key link between management and operational teams. The role is responsible for ensuring that strategic priorities, operational initiatives, and business objectives are effectively communicated, implemented, and followed through across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Overall Business Operations

  • Monitor the day-to-day operations of Jaan's water bottling and distribution business based in Tabanan, Bali.

  • Serve as a key operational leader working closely with the Founder & Managing Director to ensure effective business execution.

  • Translate strategic priorities and operational directives from the Founder & Managing Director into actionable plans and coordinate implementation across the organisation.

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with the Founder & Managing Director to identify operational challenges and improvement opportunities.

  • Develop and implement practical solutions to improve efficiency, quality, and reliability of operations.

  • Establish structured follow-up mechanisms to ensure agreed operational initiatives are completed.

  • Conduct periodic operational reviews to ensure improvements are sustained and embedded into daily operations.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop operational staff and department supervisors.

  • Ensure clarity of responsibilities, workflows, and performance expectations across teams.

  • Maintain accountability for task execution, deadlines, and operational standards.

  • Promote coordination and communication across departments.

  • Build a culture of ownership, discipline, and continuous operational improvement.

Business Development & Commercial Support

  • Work with sales and marketing teams to support business growth objectives.

  • Monitor customer feedback and service quality to identify operational improvements.

  • Ensure operational capacity aligns with commercial requirements and customer expectations.

  • Support evaluation of new business opportunities from an operational feasibility perspective.

Strategic Planning & Reporting

  • Escalate key operational risks, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities with recommended actions.

  • Provide structured reporting on operational performance and execution progress of key initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience in operations management, manufacturing management, general management, or a similar leadership role, including employee supervision, performance management, and team leadership.

  • Experience overseeing production facilities, manufacturing operations, logistics, supply chain functions, or multi-department business operations.

  • Experience in fermentation processes, food processing operations, and/or downstream processing (DSP) operations will be highly advantageous.

  • Experience implementing operational systems, SOPs, performance management frameworks, quality control systems, or process improvement initiatives.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Food Science, Manufacturing, or a related discipline is preferred.
