Job Description - General Manager
The Singapore Floorball Association (SFA) is a National Sport Association (NSA) formed in 1995. SFA is govern by a Management Board, affiliated to Sport Singapore (SportSG), Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC), and a member of the International Floorball Federation (IFF).
As an association, SFA strive to develop and encourage the sport of floorball in Singapore by providing opportunities to Singaporeans play floorball regardless of age. At the international arena, SFA plays a pivotal role in the promotion floorball through the organisation and participation in key events such as World Floorball Championship, SEA Games.
SFA is looking for a dynamic individual to lead the SFA's day-to-day operations and deliver on our Multi-Year Sports plan and vision. This is a full-time position and this position reports directly to SFA management board.
Role summary
As the General Manager, you will be the senior operational leader and key executive, responsible for translating the Board's strategic priorities into measurable programmes and results. You will lead the secretariat, oversee high performance and grassroots development, grow revenue and sponsorship, ensure strong governance and compliance, and act as our primary external representative with SportSG, SNOC, partners and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
A) Strategic & Leadership
. Lead the development and execution of SFA's multi-year sports plan in partnership with the Board.
. Provide day-to-day leadership to the Secretariat build, mentor and retain a high-performing team.
B) High performance & Athlete pathway
. Assist the Technical director to oversee the high-performance programme, coach / athlete support, and talent pathway from participation to elite levels.
. Work with the National Coaches to set performance targets and measurement frameworks.
C) Commercial & Partnerships
. Create and deliver a commercial strategy to diversify revenue (sponsorship, events, grants, fundraising and merchandising).
. Be the lead negotiator of corporate partnerships and major donors.
D) Operations, Finance & Governance
. Lead financial planning, budgeting and reporting ensure prudent fiscal controls and transparent reporting to the Board.
. Ensure SFA complies with statutory and SportSG / SNOC requirements and best-practice governance and safeguarding policies.
E) Events, Competitions & Community
. Oversee delivery of national competitions, community programmes, coaching accreditation and volunteer development.
. Build relationships with clubs, schools, and community partners to grow grassroots participation.
F) Stakeholder Engagement & representation
. Represent SFA to SportSG, SNOC, Asia Oceania Floorball Confederation and International Floorball Federation, government agencies and media.
. Serve as the Board's primary operational contact and prepare timely, accurate reports for Board meetings.
Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree in business or sports management preferred.
2. Proactive nature and strong work ethic.
3. Demonstrated knowledge in planning and strong organizational skills.
4. Advanced proficiency with MS Office and good IT skills.
5. Excellent interpersonal skills to engage effectively with stakeholders.
6. Minimum 8 years of working experience, with at least 3 years in supervisory roles.
7. Passion for sport and alignment with SFA's mission to grow floorball in Singapore.
8. Demonstrate experience in generating commercial revenue (sponsorship, grants, events) and managing budgets.
