Job Description

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Role Summary

The role of this General Manager position is expected to strategize, manage, implement and oversee international sales and commercial marketing strategy (except Japan, Singapore and Malaysia), while developing the new market for company's business expansion, balance geographical portfolio. Closely work and report to the management.

Area of Responsibility

Business Planning and Development:

  • Develop the mid-long term sales/ commercial marketing strategy for the territories in accordance with group mid-long term business plan.
  • Plan, monitor, manage budget while balancing the country portfolio according to mid-long term strategy.
  • Assist Management to explore, develop and restructure the business model in selected countries to improve group wide business efficiency.

Execute Strategic Business Plan:

  • Lead and manage teams to execute business practices efficiently to achieve PL target.
  • Organize market portfolio over the team effectively in align with the group strategy and business plan.
  • Develop and improve business relationship with key customers while protecting company's interests.
  • Identify and drive opportunities to cultivate capabilities in operation teams.
  • Motivate teams to improve productivity, operational efficiency.

Drive Budget and Profitability Management:

  • Management of improving and maintaining profitability for the entire department and each cluster and region.
  • Effective management and coordination of expenses related to sales promotion and logistics for improving company profitability.

Plan and Execution of Commercial Marketing:

  • Develop and execute effective plan and action of the commercial marketing strategies in line with the company's medium- to long-term strategy and market environment.
  • Management and operation of effective organisation, products, operations, and other commercial marketing matters which is suitable to the market conditions and needs.
  • Lead and manage the new business project (ex, new market development, new product development, alliance of business partners, etc.)

Risk Management:

  • Prevent and/ or handle, control material risks in the critical area and transactions.
  • Manage risks of overseas transportation by sea and air.
  • Implement compliance and governance practice among teams and distributors, practice business according to latest regulations and relevant laws in each country.

STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT

Internal

  • Marketing, SCM, R&D, QA, HR, relevant divisions in Pokka Sapporo in Japan.

External

  • Customers/ distributors in each country, legal advisor, suppliers (Insurance etc).

Communication Tasks

  • Excellent negotiation and leadership skills, outstanding written and verbal communication skills to handle, manage and develop each customers/ distributors.
  • Understanding and communication skill to work with Japanese colleagues in Japan.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration or a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role.

Professional Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of international trading practices.

Aptitude and Skills

  • Keen business sense, with the ability to find creative business-oriented solutions to problems.
  • Maintain high level standard to comply fast changing relevant international laws and regulations.
  • Ability to prepare reports and use of appropriate mode of communication. Must be proficient at analyzing data, building reporting and making strategic recommendations.
