The General Manager isthe ambassador of the MAMA Shelter property to all guests, local businesses, and media. The General Manager ensures that all guests and patrons are provided with quality service and the MAMA Standards are met and exceeded at all times. The General Manager seeks to create a positive and exciting team-oriented environment, oversees the day-to-day operations of all departments through coordination with departmental leaders. The General Manager controls expenses and maximizes revenue, maintains 100% guest satisfaction, & reports directly to the CEO of MAMA Shelter. At all times the General Manager must exhibit impeccable leadership and embody the MAMA Spirit.
Job Overview:
- Creates a warm, welcoming environment which fosters collaboration across all departments and team members.
- Provides motivational and inspiring leadership through effective communication, coaching, training, and development.
- Applies and coach others on MAMA Shelter's standard operational procedures.
- You have an eye for talent- partner with department leaders in ensuring all new hires are brand appropriate and develop potential leaders.
- Oversee and manage a team of 80+ full time team members, part time members, with respect to MAMA's unique workplace culture.
- Safety is your top priority- You ensure that all procedures relating to the safety and security of the guests, employees, & property are upheld at all times.
- Embody the MAMA Spirit through effective communication and regular check-in's with leaders and team members alike.
- Oversee revenue and sales and marketing strategy in partnership with Sales, rooms, F&B, events etc.
- Actively promotes the brand in local events and prospect new markets to increase brand awareness and revenues.
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of physical property in conjunction with Engineering team through regular follow up.
- Maintains and exceeds local health and safety food standards.
- Maintains and exceeds MAMA Standards of service.
- Schedule, lead, & actively participate daily, weekly, quarterly leadership meetings and attend regular staff training sessions.
- Assists in the development of hotel financial strategies in association with the corporate executive staff and financial controller by forecasting and anticipating trends and variances aligning monetary resources & develops action plans measuring and analyzing results initiating corrective actions minimizing the impact of variances.
- Ensuring there are continuous flow of promotions and events to generate business traffics.
- Controls food and beverage costs, analyzing menus and ensuring standards of services are in line with MAMA Standards.
- Maintains regular communication with local Executive Board and CEO in France.
- Other Duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- You have at least 5+ years experience as a General Manager of a hotel & 3 years experience in a Hotel Management role within your market.
- You're a visible leader and will maintain a strong floor presence.
- You are passionate about Hospitality and are goal driven.
- You function well in a fast-paced environment and enjoy a challenge.
- Your attention to detail is second to none.
- You've never met a problem which you could not find a solution to.
- You get us, you know our hotels, our restaurants, and our concept.
- Ability to represent Mama Shelter's brand, its image and reputation.
- Competent in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word.
- Must have the ability to work flexible work hours including evenings and weekends and holidays. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Exceptional guest service and interpersonal skills, with a friendly, warm, and outgoing personality.
