Position Overview
The General Manager (GM) is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational management of the club. This role oversees both football and business operations, ensuring sustainable growth, competitive performance, and strong community engagement aligned with the club's values and long-term vision.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
Develop and implement the club's short-term and long-term strategic plans
Align football performance goals with commercial and financial objectives
Report directly to the Management Committee on performance, risks, and opportunities
2. Football Operations Oversight
Work closely with the Head Coach and coaching team on squad planning and performance targets
Oversee player recruitment strategy, contracts, and retention policies
Ensure alignment between first team, youth academy, and development pathways
3. Commercial & Revenue Growth
Assist in driving sponsorship acquisition, partnerships, and commercial deals
Oversee marketing, branding, and fan engagement initiatives
Identify new revenue streams (merchandising, events, digital content, etc.)
4. Financial Management
Manage annual budgets, financial planning, and cost controls
Ensure financial sustainability and compliance with league regulations
Oversee financial reporting and audits
5. Operations & Administration
Supervise day-to-day club operations including matchday logistics
Ensure compliance with league, federation, and regulatory requirements
Manage vendor relationships, facilities, and infrastructure
6. Stakeholder Management
Act as the primary liaison with league authorities, sponsors, and partners
Build strong relationships with fans, community groups, and media
Represent the club in official events and engagements
7. Talent & Organizational Development
Lead and manage internal staff across departments
Establish a high-performance culture within the organization
Recruit, develop, and retain key personnel
Key Requirements
Proven leadership experience in sports management, football clubs, or related industries
Strong understanding of professional football operations and structures
Experience in commercial development and revenue generation
Financial acumen and budget management experience
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Ability to work in a high-pressure, performance-driven environment
Preferred Qualifications
Degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, or related field
Experience within Southeast Asian football ecosystem (preferred)
Established network within football, sponsors, and governing bodies
