RESPONSIBILITIES

THE ROLE: General Manager, Asia

The purpose of the General Manager Asia role is to lead and deliver Kaplan Professional's Asia expansion strategy, with accountability for the management of strategic partnerships, corporate relationships, operations and revenue growth.

Working closely with the CEO Kaplan Professional, the role will plan and execute the growth strategy to expand Kaplan Professional's footprint within existing markets in Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam, as well as the expansion into new country markets through the development of strategic partnerships and the development and implementation of education programs across Asia.

Key Reponsibilities:

Strategic leadership and management

  • In collaboration with the CEO, develop and plan Kaplan Professional's Asia expansion strategy.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to execute and deliver our Asia expansion strategy and ensure all parties are engaged in the execution of the strategic plan.
  • Maintain excellent communication and relationships with internal and external
  • Provide insight, perspective and good judgement to Kaplan leadership
  • Be a valuable resource to the APFinSA member countries by providing insight and perspective on the opportunity for the FChFP certification and other programs to be delivered by Kaplan Professional in their market.
  • Adapt and replicate successful APFinSA models in other Asia Pacific country markets.
  • Ensure the effective management and implementation of the strategic plan to achieve agreed results.

Market development and revenue growth

  • In collaboration with the CEO, determine realistic and achievable budgets for the Asia Pacific market that deliver profitable revenue streams and long-term success.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to build awareness and drive sales for Kaplan Professional's education programs and CPD solutions.
  • Expand Kaplan Professional's distribution channels through developing and delivering commercial astute and sustainable arrangements with APFinSA country members, professional associations and other partners.
  • Develop an understanding of the current and emerging education trends within the Asia Pacific financial services industry and use this insight to develop additional revenue streams that leverage Kaplan's existing education programs and CPD solutions.
  • Accountability for the management of the Asia expansion budget and achieving the sales and revenue targets for Asia Pacific.

Build brand and reputational awareness

  • Build and maintain Kaplan Professional's profile as the global education expert and champion for advice, advisers, advice clients and the financial advice profession.
  • Build and maintain networks and relationships with key stakeholders and influencers in the relevant countries within the Asia Pacific region, e.g. regulators, professional bodies, corporates, education specialists, and the advice community.
  • Provide insight, perspective and influence across industry, government, and academic bodies to achieve relevancy for Kaplan Professional.
  • Build awareness of Kaplan Professional's education partnerships, programs, CPD and other solutions through relevant industry platforms and events.
  • Represent Kaplan Professional as a professional, thought leadership organisation and maintain the organisational message at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field of study.
  • Thorough understanding of financial services and education sectors.
  • 10+ years experience in a sales/marketing and/or strategic projects roles.
  • Experience in strategic partnerships and corporate relationship management, including in the Asia Pacific region.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead multiple large scale projects and produce results.
  • Insightful, strategic and commercial thinker with the ability to solve problems.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with strong consultation, collaboration and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, presentation and communication skills.
  • Proven strategic planning and management skills, including market research, forecasting and budgeting.
OTHER INFORMATION
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm.
  • Work Arrangements: Hybrid (Blend of in-office and remote work)
