Operational Accounting Consultant (Contract)

RGP has been engaged by a global organisation operating within a fast-paced, multinational environment to provide an experienced Operational Accounting Consultant to support their finance team during a critical period of reporting and operational transformation.

This contract opportunity will suit a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in complex environments and can independently manage month-end close while driving process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and execute the full month-end close process
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals and adjustments
• Perform detailed balance sheet and P&L reconciliations
• Prepare monthly financial statements and reporting packs
• Conduct variance analysis against budget and forecast
• Strengthen internal controls and reporting processes
• Support cross-functional stakeholders with financial insights
• Contribute to ad-hoc finance and operational improvement projects

Ideal Profile

• 5+ years experience in operational accounting or Record-to-Report
• Prior audit background preferred
• Proven ownership of full month-end close
• Strong reconciliation and variance analysis capability
• SAP or Oracle experience
• Advanced Excel (large data sets, analysis)
• Experience within a global multinational environment (essential)
• Technology industry exposure advantageous
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills
• Comfortable operating in a dynamic, evolving environment
