Lecturer in Business

(Undergraduate & Postgraduate Programmes)

Location: Central
Employment Type: 1-Year Contract (Renewable / Permanent)
Salary: Up to SGD 7,000 basic + 1-month bonus
Working Schedule: 5 days per week (including evenings and/or weekends, depending on class schedules)

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lecturer in Business to deliver high-quality teaching across Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes. The successful candidate will have expertise in Accounting and Finance, Digital Media, and Research or Project-Based courses, and will contribute to teaching excellence, academic leadership, curriculum development, and student success.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Teaching & Academic Leadership

  • Teach across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including short courses.

  • Serve as Course Director and/or Module Leader as assigned.

  • Design, develop, and review high-quality curriculum and learning materials aligned with programme and module specifications.

  • Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, workshops, labs, and studio sessions (including overseas delivery where required).

  • Develop and implement online and blended learning strategies.

  • Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate final-year projects, dissertations, and research work.

  • Review student feedback, conduct student focus groups, and participate in Student-Staff Liaison meetings.

  • Provide academic advising, learning support, and monitor student progress.

  • Advise students on academic performance, career pathways, and postgraduate study options.

Assessment & Quality Assurance

  • Set, mark, and internally moderate coursework and examinations in alignment with learning outcomes.

  • Ensure compliance with internal quality assurance processes, including QPMS examinations.

  • Facilitate moderation of results prior to Module/Programme Assessment Boards.

  • Handle coursework and examination appeal cases objectively.

  • Support and facilitate university audits, site visits, and programme reviews.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Manage and support associate lecturers, including induction, class observations, and staff development activities.

  • Review and approve teaching assignments.

  • Contribute to departmental and programme meetings and decision-making processes.

  • Promote programmes and support initiatives related to student recruitment and retention.

  • Work collaboratively with senior management and cross-functional teams.

Research & Knowledge Exchange

  • Demonstrate active research capability.

  • Apply research tools and software such as SPSS, R, Excel, NVivo, online survey platforms, and e-learning systems.

  • Support applied research, project-based learning, and knowledge exchange initiatives.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support new and existing partnerships with universities and industry partners, including programme approval documentation.

  • Participate in school events, marketing activities, and institutional projects.

  • Undertake other academic or administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements

Academic & Professional Qualifications

  • PhD holder, or Master's degree with PhD in progress

  • Minimum 3-4 years of relevant experience (teaching experience preferred)

  • Teaching qualifications (e.g. ACTA, ACLP, DACE) are an added advantage

Experience & Skills

  • Experience teaching business disciplines, including Accounting and Finance, Digital Media, and Research/Project-Based modules

  • Experience in programme/module leadership, development, and administration in a higher education environment

  • Exposure to UK and/or Australian university programmes preferred

  • Experience in new programme development and university programme management

  • Strong digital literacy and interest in emerging educational technologies

  • Evidence of engagement in professional practice and continuous professional development

  • Strong awareness of national and international trends in the higher education sector

  • Flexible and willing to work evenings and weekends as required
