Gen AI Engineer (Java)

We are partnered with an established financial services institution in Singapore looking for a Senior Backend & AI Engineer to join their enterprise engineering team.

The team is focused on deploying production-grade Generative AI products across enterprise operations, moving well past lab experiments and proof-of-concept builds. In this role, you will bridge solid backend software engineering with modern AI orchestration to ship stable, high-throughput applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain robust backend microservices and APIs to support customer-facing and operational AI tooling.
• Implement and refine agentic workflows and LLM orchestration layers integrated into core enterprise architecture.
• Optimize existing application performance, ensuring production resilience, security, and observability across deployed models and services.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to evaluate architecture trade-offs and drive practical engineering standards without over-engineering.

Requirements:

• Proven track record in core backend software engineering, with strong production experience in Java.
• Practical familiarity with GenAI orchestration frameworks, agent-based systems, or retrieval pipelines (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, vector search/Elastic).
• Solid grasp of REST API architecture, system resilience, and enterprise design patterns.
• Strong engineering discipline with an emphasis on code maintainability and pragmatism over experimental code.
