Description
We are partnering with a gas company in Singapore with a critical role in the downstream energy market. Due to ongoing operational requirements, they are seeking a Gas Operator to support real-time gas operations, reporting, and stakeholder coordination.
Role
Reporting to Head of Operations. The role will manage end-to-end daily gas operations, including hourly and daily gas nominations, ensuring alignment with customer demand, upstream (PNG/LNG) supply, and transportation capacity. Optimise pipeline capacity bookings (firm, transfer, AOR) in collaboration with the Supply team to achieve cost efficiency. Coordinate and oversee on-site operational activities across facilities. Continuously monitor gas specifications, landing pressures, and customer offtake to detect abnormalities, acting as the first responder to troubleshoot, coordinate resolution, and escalate issues when necessary. Provide detailed operational and analytical support by preparing variance analysis (planned vs. actual offtake), inventory reconciliation, take-or-pay tracking, and regulatory reports for EMA submissions. Support settlement and billing processes through accurate validation and reconciliation of metering data to ensure timely invoicing. Act as a key coordination point between internal teams (Supply, Commercial) and external stakeholders including customers, upstream suppliers, transporters, and regulators to ensure smooth execution of operations. Contribute to KPI tracking, process optimisation, and system improvements, with added responsibilities in mentoring and leading analysis
Requirements
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Engineering or a related discipline. Minium 2 years of experience in gas operations. Strong knowledge of the Gas Network Code, Gas Supply Code, and Gas Metering Code is essential, along with familiarity in gas nominations, scheduling, and regulatory compliance. Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform effectively in a real-time, fast-paced operational environment. Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities are required. Shift-based operations is needed
