Gas Cargo Operator

Our client is an established international trading house seeking a Gas Cargo Operator (LNG & LPG) to join its Singapore team. This role involves coordinating end-to-end cargo operations, ensuring the smooth execution of trading transactions and working closely with internal and external stakeholders to manage operational requirements across international markets.

Key Responsibilities:

. Manage day-to-day LNG and/or LPG cargo operations, ensuring shipments are executed in accordance with contractual obligations and agreed schedules.

. Coordinate cargo movements with trading, shipping, chartering and other internal teams to support the timely execution of transactions.

. Liaise with vessel owners, charterers, shipbrokers, terminals, agents and other counterparties to facilitate smooth cargo operations.

. Monitor vessel schedules, loading and discharge activities, cargo nominations and delivery timelines, addressing operational issues as they arise.

. Coordinate cargo documentation, including shipping instructions, bills of lading, certificates and other relevant commercial and operational documents.

. Track cargo quantities, shipment status and operational milestones to ensure accurate records and timely reporting.

. Review contractual terms and operational requirements to ensure cargo activities are carried out in line with relevant agreements.

. Work with relevant stakeholders to resolve cargo discrepancies, scheduling changes, delays and other shipment-related issues.

. Monitor operational costs and support the review of freight, port charges and other cargo-related expenses.

. Assist with the reconciliation of cargo quantities, supporting documentation and invoices to facilitate timely settlement.

. Maintain accurate cargo records and update internal systems to support operational tracking and reporting.

. Build effective working relationships with internal teams and external counterparties to ensure efficient coordination throughout the shipment cycle.

Requirements:

. Diploma or Degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Logistics, Business or a related discipline.

. Relevant experience in LNG and/or LPG cargo operations within a trading house, energy company, shipping organisation or related environment.

. Good understanding of gas cargo movements, vessel operations, shipping documentation and international shipment processes.

. Familiarity with cargo nominations, loading and discharge procedures, scheduling and contractual requirements.

. Strong coordination and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple shipments and competing priorities.

. Good analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail when handling cargo data, documentation and operational costs.

. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with stakeholders across different markets and time zones.

. Comfortable working in a fast-paced trading environment where priorities and shipment schedules may change.

. Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with commercial and operational teams.

. Proactive, adaptable and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of responsibility for the accurate and timely execution of cargo operations.
