JOB PURPOSE
- Assume primary responsibility to support the development and maintenance of the Fund Platform for CTBC Private Banking (CTBC PB), with a focus on Alternative Investment Funds including Private Market Funds and Hedge Funds.
- Be responsible for CTBC PB discretionary investment portfolios
- Contribute to the promotion and distribution of discretionary portfolios and fund products.
- Manage related processes and process enhancement projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Fund Platform Support
- To improve funds and DPM penetration rate in client portfolios.
- Take charge of the efforts of Alternative Investment related fund research, due diligence, process and output that can be implemented and leveraged across the region
- Prepare internal and external client-ready publications, updates and marketing materials for Alternative Investment funds
- Manage relationships with major counterparties and key market players in the Alternative Funds space and stay informed about relevant market developments and news / events
- Be familiar with Focus List of funds and be prepared to promote the distribution of fund products and portfolios to clients
- Actively participate and support the shaping of the Specialist List of all fund products
- Work within the Funds team to ensure coverage at all times, directly support / backup Funds group during absences
- Be available for RMs/ICs consultations regarding client queries, recommended lists and sales ideas
Discretionary Portfolio Management Support
- Support the management of Discretionary Mandate including potentially taking on the role and responsibilities as DPM portfolio manager.
Sales Support
- Work closely with RMs/ICs to assist in client investment proposals to drive product sales
- Foster, whenever possible, the development of the knowledge base within the relationship management team, through dedicated and on-the-job training
- Publish regular investment material for use with clients, including flash output as appropriate
- Respond to ICs / RMs queries on a timely basis
Compliance and Processes
- Ensure full compliance with CTBC internal Policies and Procedures, further with all local and cross-border regulatory requirements
- Manage funds & mandate related product programs, policies and vendor due diligence
- Manage product setup and the regular reviews processes
- Be actively involved in ad hoc projects for process/system enhancements
Key Skills & Attributes
- Technical capabilities in Funds products, particularly in Alternative Investment Funds and Private Market Funds space
- Proven people manager with a commitment to teamwork
- Highest ethical standards
- Relevant education, investment experience and proven investment track record in a private client framework
- Mature, highly credible with strong client focus
- Relevant experience of working in Asia Pacific
- Excellent communicator, Mandarin proficient as the role involves liaising with Mandarin speaking stakeholders.
