Job Description
Fundraising & Distribution - Australian Private Credit
About the Firm
Our client is a well-established hedge fund with a strong track record across alternative investments. As part of the continued growth of its private credit platform, the firm is looking to appoint an experienced Fundraising & Distribution professional to support the growth of its Australian private credit strategy.
The fund focuses on Australian real estate-backed lending, providing private credit solutions secured against quality Australian property assets.
This is an opportunity for an experienced distribution professional with an established investor network to take ownership of capital raising and investor development across the region.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Fundraising / Distribution professional with approximately 5-10 years of relevant experience to introduce and raise capital for the Australian private credit fund.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing relationships with investors and intermediaries, with a particular focus on Single Family Offices, Multi-Family Offices, private wealth investors, and fund distribution channels.
The role can be structured on either a full-time or part-time basis, depending on the candidate's profile, network and level of engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute fundraising and distribution strategies for the Australian private credit fund.
Identify, build and maintain relationships with Single Family Offices (SFOs), Multi-Family Offices (MFOs), private wealth groups, HNW/UHNW investors and institutional or professional distribution channels.
Leverage an existing network of investors and intermediaries to generate qualified opportunities and new capital.
Present and promote the fund's investment strategy, track record, risk/return profile and value proposition to prospective investors.
Manage the fundraising process from initial introduction through to investor onboarding and capital commitment.
Develop relationships with private banks, wealth managers, fund platforms, financial advisers and other relevant distribution partners where appropriate.
Maintain regular communication with existing and prospective investors and provide updates on fund performance, strategy and pipeline.
Work closely with the investment and management teams to support investor due diligence, presentations and meetings.
Monitor the Australian and regional private credit market and identify new fundraising opportunities.
Represent the firm professionally at investor meetings, industry events and relevant networking opportunities.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
5-10 years of relevant experience in fund distribution, institutional sales, capital raising, investor relations or private markets fundraising.
A strong existing network across Family Offices, private wealth, HNW/UHNW investors, fund distributors and/or institutional investors.
Demonstrated ability to raise capital and convert investor relationships into commitments.
Experience promoting alternative investment strategies such as private credit, private debt, real estate, hedge funds, private equity or other illiquid/alternative investments.
Strong understanding of the investment and fundraising process, including investor due diligence and fund documentation.
Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-management skills.
A commercially minded and entrepreneurial approach, with the ability to work independently and proactively develop new opportunities.
Strong credibility and existing relationships within the Australian or broader Asia-Pacific investment community would be highly advantageous.
Key Attributes
We are particularly interested in candidates who are:
Well connected and highly networked within the Family Office and private wealth community.
Fundraising-oriented, rather than purely relationship-management focused.
Comfortable operating independently and creating opportunities from their own network.
Able to articulate complex investment strategies clearly to sophisticated investors.
Entrepreneurial, commercially driven and motivated by capital-raising results.
Comfortable working in a lean, senior environment with direct access to the investment team.
Engagement
The firm is open to considering both full-time and part-time arrangements for the right individual.
The structure can be tailored based on the candidate's experience, investor network, availability and ability to contribute to the fund's capital-raising objectives.
