Position Summary
Our client, a Venture Capital fund, is looking for a Fund Operations Manager at their branch in Singapore. As a Fund Operations Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end operations of a venture capital fund, acting as the key internal owner while coordinating closely with group companies and external service providers. You will work closely with venture capital professionals and related teams in Japan to support daily operations and the fund's growth.
This role suits a hands-on generalist who can take ownership in a fast-changing environment and is keen to broaden their scope from core operations into fund operations and investor-related activities over time.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Vendor Management
Oversee middle- and back-office operations across venture capital funds, ensuring accuracy and consistency across entities.
Act as the main liaison between external vendors and group companies, particularly the Japan team.
Manage operational legal matters such as NDAs, outsourcing agreements, and related payments.
Support basic corporate secretarial and governance matters through external providers.
Compliance & Regulatory (MAS)
Coordinate MAS-related regulatory requirements with external compliance consultants.
Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies.
Finance & Accounting
Review monthly accounts prepared by outsourced providers and coordinate with external accountants and auditors.
Support annual audits and monitor cash positions and overall financial status.
Liaise with tax advisors on corporate and employee-related tax filings.
HR & Payroll
Oversee payroll, onboarding, and general HR operations in coordination with external service providers.
Fund Operations & Reporting
Support investor reporting, including NAV calculations and financial performance updates.
Handle ad-hoc investor information requests.
Review fund administrator outputs and ensure timely reporting to investors.
Requirements
3-5+ years of experience in fund operations, finance, accounting, or startup/VC operations.
Practical understanding of fund structures, NAV calculations, and valuation methodologies.
Experience working with external service providers (fund administrators, auditors, legal, tax advisors).
Strong ownership mindset with the ability to independently manage end-to-end operations.
High attention to detail with the ability to handle multipleworkstreamssimultaneously.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, unstructured environment.
Business-level fluency in both English and Japanese in order to liaise with Japanese speaking stakeholders.
This role offers broad, cross‑functional exposure to end‑to‑end fund operations, rather than being limited to accounting or administrative tasks alone.
Over time, the position provides opportunities to play a core role in fund management and investor‑related activities, including reporting and stakeholder engagement.
You will work in a global environment with close collaboration with the Japan‑based team, allowing for strong cross‑border communication and partnership.
We regret to inform that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
Appreciate your understanding.
