Fund Accountant

JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

Fund Accounting

• Maintain fund accounting records in Geneva and perform cash, position and NAV reconciliations.
• Record fund transactions and reconcile accounting balances against custodian, broker and fund administrator records.
• Prepare shadow trial balances, position reports, cash statements, profit and loss reports and NAV reports for review.
• Investigate reconciliation differences and escalate material or unresolved matters.
• Support improvements to workflows, data quality and internal controls.

NAV Oversight

• Review the completeness and timeliness of external fund administrator NAV deliverables and follow up on outstanding items.
• Prepare management and performance fee calculations, including high-water marks, hurdles, investor equalization and series accounting, for review.
• Perform initial checks on prices, foreign exchange rates, accruals, expenses and investor allocations and escalate material exceptions.
• Assist with fund administrator transitions and related data reconciliations, where required.

Regulatory Reporting

• Support annual fund audits and assist with the preparation and review of financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Prepare fund-level information required for tax filings, GST remission matters and MAS regulatory filings.
• Provide supporting information for management reporting and group consolidation.
• Assist with routine accounting and NAV-related queries raised by auditors, tax advisers, fund administrators and internal stakeholders.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
• Two to four years of relevant experience in fund accounting, fund administration or fund operations.
• Experience preparing NAVs and performing cash and investment reconciliations.
• Experience with management or performance fee calculations would be an advantage.
• Geneva experience is preferred but not essential. Experience with another recognized fund accounting system may also be considered.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English and Mandarin Chinese, including the ability to review Chinese-language documents.
