Freelance Sales Consultant - Handyman & Home Improvement Services

Job Summary

At Howdyman, every sales consultant is also a brand ambassador. We believe good sales begins with good customer service-not hard selling.

You will engage customers, understand their repair or improvement needs, recommend suitable solutions and coordinate with our technical team to turn enquiries into confirmed jobs and lasting customer relationships.

You are not expected to diagnose technical problems or provide designs independently. Training, technical advice and simple design support will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly and professionally to customer enquiries.

• Listen actively and understand the customer's repair, maintenance or improvement needs.

• Collect accurate photos, measurements and relevant job information.

• Coordinate with the technical team on suitable solutions and pricing.

• Explain quotations and next steps clearly, without unnecessary hard selling.

• Follow up consistently and guide customers through job confirmation and deposit payment.

• Hand confirmed jobs over to the operations team with complete information.

• Maintain accurate and organised customer and sales records.

• Attend site visits when required to understand customer needs and coordinate with the technical team.

• Develop new customers, referrals and business partnerships where possible.

Required Competencies and Qualifications

• Customer-focused with clear and friendly communication skills.

• Responsible and consistent with customer follow-ups.

• Comfortable discussing quotations and asking for the sale.

• Able to communicate through WhatsApp, telephone calls and face-to-face meetings.

• Able to use basic digital tools for quotations and customer records.

• Able to work independently while collaborating with a team.

• Willing to attend site visits when required.

• Legally eligible to undertake freelance work in Singapore.

No specific certification is required.

Preferred Experience

Previous experience in sales, customer service, renovation, property, furniture, building materials or facilities management is an advantage but not compulsory.

Applicants with the right attitude, communication skills and willingness to learn are welcome.

Working Arrangement

This is a freelance, commission-based role without a fixed basic salary or guaranteed monthly income.

Successful applicants will attend a two-day practical onboarding programme before handling customer enquiries independently.

The complete commission structure and realistic earning examples will be shared with shortlisted candidates during the role briefing.
