About:
Our client is a MAS regulated bank focused on serving SMEs.As part of its continued growth, the Bank is seeking a Fraud Risk Specialist to lead and strengthen its fraud risk framework.
This role will act as the strategic owner of fraud risk across the organisation, covering fraud strategy, governance, analytics, and regulatory engagement, while overseeing day to day fraud monitoring and investigation activities.
Responsibilities:
. Define and drive the Bank's fraud risk strategy, appetite, and policies in alignment with enterprise risk framework and MAS regulatory expectations
. Establish fraud governance forums, reporting dashboards, and KRIs to support senior management and Board oversight
. Ensure compliance with MAS guidelines and industry fraud standards
. Lead the development and optimisation of fraud detection rules, models, and analytics dashboards
. Conduct fraud trend analysis and horizon scanning to identify emerging scam and fraud threats
. Partner with data science and technology teams to deploy and enhance fraud detection capabilities
. Oversee fraud analysts responsible for onboarding reviews, transaction monitoring, and investigations
. Provide guidance on case escalation and regulatory reporting requirements
. Act as key liaison with industry fraud forums, regulators, and law enforcement agencies
. Conduct fraud risk assessments for new product launches and process changes
. Support internal and external audits and control assessments
Requirements
. Minimum 5 years of fraud risk or financial crime experience in banking or fintech, with exposure to both strategy or policy and operational fraud management
. Strong knowledge of banking fraud typologies including application fraud, mule accounts, account takeover, and scams
. Proven experience in fraud analytics and data driven detection techniques, including rules development, model usage, and dashboard reporting
. Familiarity with MAS regulations relating to fraud, scams, cyber security, data privacy, and risk governance
. Ability to manage stakeholders across risk, compliance, technology, and business functions
. Self motivated, independent, with strong verbal and written communication skills
