Position Overview
The Food Processing Worker is responsible for processing, preparing, and packaging food products in accordance with quality, hygiene, and safety standards. This role involves operating machinery, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring that production targets are met in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Operate food processing equipment and machinery as per standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Prepare raw materials for processing (e.g. washing, cutting, mixing)
- Monitor production processes and adjust settings to maintain quality and efficiency
- Inspect raw and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
- Pack, label, and store finished goods according to specifications
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment following food safety regulations (e.g. GMP, HACCP)
- Report equipment malfunctions or product issues to the supervisor
- Follow all workplace health and safety regulations
- Assist with cleaning and sanitizing work areas and machinery
- Complete production logs and reports accurately
Education
- Secondary school education or equivalent
Experience
- Prior experience in food manufacturing or processing is an advantage
Skills
Other Requirements
- Basic food hygiene certification
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to follow instructions and standard procedures
- Good attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Physically fit and able to stand for long periods and lift heavy items
- Willing to work in cold or warm environments, depending on the product
- Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays, if required
