Job Description

The Chief Investment Office (CIO Office) is looking for an experienced Fixed Income Specialist. The role will focus on developing impactful fixed income views and sector strategies to support clients in their investment journey, while contributing to the bank's strategic and commercial objectives.

Job Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

Production of fixed income ideas:

• Support fixed income research coverage and formulation of sector strategies.
• Develop high-conviction security recommendations and strategies to drive model portfolio performance.
• Contribute to house views as a member of the GWM CIO team.
  
  

Proliferation of house views:

• Communicate house views and investment ideas to internal stakeholders and end clients.
• Generate high quality investment publications and presentation materials.
• Support client events and media engagements where applicable.
  
  

Performance of business growth:

• Understand business goals and collaborate with other teams to achieve them.
• Assist in the engagement and acquisition of key clients.
• Contribute towards GWM's revenue, profit and AUM growth objectives.
  
  

Process management and governance:

• Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving team effectiveness and productivity.
• Collaborate with team members to foster a high-performance and team-oriented culture.
• Adhere to Maybank's compliance and risk framework.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in an investment or fixed income role.
• Able to apply top-down macro and bottom-up credit analysis to evaluate global fixed income opportunities.
• Understand fixed income portfolio allocation to construct model portfolios that align with house views.
• Analytical, critical thinking and attention to detail.
• Able to utilize Bloomberg, FactSet, Excel or AI-driven workflows for data extraction, analysis and research production.
• Strong professionalism with high level of integrity and ethics.
• Good written, oral and presentation skills in English. Additional language skills: Chinese/Malay/Bahasa would be ideal.
