Job Description

Role

Part of the middle office function for a multi-asset portfolio of equity funds, private markets funds (PE, VC, private credit, infrastructure, real estate) and hedge funds.

Responsible for accurate valuations, NAV and cash flow records, and performance reporting across private and public market holdings.

Act as the link between the investment team, fund administrators, custodians, Treasury and Manila fund finance team.

Dimensions

  • Valuation and performance coverage for the entire funds portfolio, currently more than 30 fund positions across private and public markets
  • Quarterly performance and valuation inputs for Board and Investment Committee reporting (4 cycles annually)
  • Portfolio data maintenance in MSCI Total Plan and CRM
  • Coordination with multiple GPs, fund administrators and custodians across offshore and onshore structures

Key Responsibilities

  1. Record and validate quarterly NAVs from GP capital account statements, investor reports and administrator statements; perform quarter-on-quarter checks and reconcile against internal records.
  2. Roll forward lagged private markets valuations for interim cash flows (last reported NAV adjusted for subsequent calls and distributions) and flag material valuation movements and drivers to the investment team.
  3. Reconcile monthly and quarterly NAVs for hedge funds and public equity funds against administrator and custodian statements, including tracking of estimated versus final NAVs.
  4. Calculate and report performance: IRR, TVPI, DPI and RVPI for private markets; time-weighted returns, volatility and drawdown for public markets; at fund, asset class and total portfolio level.
  5. Prepare benchmark comparisons, including public market equivalent analysis for private markets, and attribution by asset class, manager and vintage.
  6. Process and validate capital call and distribution notices against LPA terms and commitment records, and coordinate funding with Treasury.
  7. Maintain commitment, unfunded commitment and cash flow records feeding the portfolio cash flow model.
  8. Maintain accurate and timely portfolio data in MSCI Total Plan and CRM, and support system enhancements and data controls.
  9. Prepare quarterly valuation and performance packs for Board, IMC and Group Finance consolidation reporting.
  10. Support audit requests, KYC/AML documentation for fund administrators, and process improvements between front, middle and back office.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field
  • Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CFA or CAIA) completed or in progress
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in fund administration, fund accounting, investment operations, valuations or audit within asset management or financial services
  • Working knowledge of private markets fund accounting (capital accounts, calls and distributions, NAV lag) and public markets fund NAV and return conventions
  • Strong Excel skills; experience with portfolio monitoring systems (e.g. MSCI Total Plan/Burgiss, eFront or similar) is an advantage
  • Exposure to offshore fund structures (Cayman, Jersey, Labuan) is an advantage
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy, with the ability to run recurring quarterly cycles independently to deadlines
  • Clear written and verbal communication with GPs, administrators and internal stakeholders
  • Maturity and sound judgement, with the ability to take ownership of deliverables, handle confidential information with discretion and escalate issues appropriately.
