Job Summary
Lead and manage fire protection teams to develop and implement strategies, ensure system compliance, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver safe, effective fire protection solutions across projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the fire protection team to achieve project and safety objectives
- Provide technical guidance, support, and mentorship to team members to enhance performance
- Develop and implement fire protection strategies, standards, and policies aligned with industry regulations
- Collaborate with departments and contractors to design fire protection plans that meet project requirements
- Conduct regular inspections and testing to ensure fire protection systems are operational and compliant
- Ensure all fire protection systems comply with relevant codes and standards through ongoing monitoring
- Develop and deliver fire safety training programs for facility staff and workers to promote safety awareness
- Stay updated on fire protection system advancements, codes, and standards and disseminate knowledge to the team
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, fire departments, and stakeholders to maintain compliance with fire safety regulations
- Provide technical support to project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve fire protection issues
- Oversee installation, repair, and maintenance activities of fire protection systems to ensure quality and safety
- Develop and monitor budgets related to fire protection projects and report progress to the Manager of Facilities Management
- Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date project documentation for fire protection systems
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients to address fire protection requirements and concerns
- Participate in meetings as required to support project and operational objectives
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Diploma in Facilities Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- At least 3 years of experience in fire protection or facilities management
- Strong knowledge of fire protection systems, principles, codes, and standards
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
