Responsibilities:

  • Engage with regulatory authorities to foster constructive relationships and ensure open lines of communication. Define, implement, and continuously enhance a global financial crime compliance framework that meets or exceeds regulatory expectations. Provide strategic direction and senior-level oversight over compliance controls addressing financial crime risks
  • Advise internal business units and functional teams on compliance matters pertaining to operational activities, including regulatory obligations, reputational risk, anti-money laundering (AML) and sanctions requirements, and other financial crime-related exposures
  • Monitor and interpret relevant rules and regulations affecting business operations, and collaborate with Risk Control, Compliance, Legal, and other key stakeholders to design and embed new controls, governance protocols, and compliance frameworks that support sustained regulatory adherence
  • Participate in internal and external audits of the firm's compliance program and provide support during regulatory examinations and inquiries as required.
  • Oversee the response and resolution of compliance incidents across multiple regions and jurisdictions, ensuring consistent and effective handling
  • Champion innovation within the Compliance function by leveraging technology to enhance monitoring, reporting, and operational efficiency

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience in the financial services, banking, or legal sectors; law degree strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a complex, interconnected business environment and collaborate extensively across functions. Skilled at engaging with and building trusted relationships among diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrates the highest ethical standards and strong decision-making capabilities. Able to work independently while also effectively supervising and guiding team members
  • Exceptional communication skills, with strong interpersonal acumen to influence and engage at all levels
  • Excellent listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in both Chinese and English
